What do you like most about Chennai?

I am really impressed with the rapid growth of infrastructure in the city. This, and the fact that Chennai is not a city of distances, means that getting around is very easy and a lot can get done in a day.

What is unique about the city?

Anyone who has ever set foot in the city can answer that in an instant – the culture. There are still pockets of the city that feel right out of the past, steeped in tradition. It’s very endearing.

An ideal place for an evening’s hangout?

Now that there are so many restaurants in the city serving a host of different cuisines, I would recommend visiting foodies take advantage of this. There are plenty of beachside restaurants on East Coast Road, which are perfect for a relaxing evening.

What's your one word of warning to those visiting Chennai?

Dealing with the local auto drivers might be a little overwhelming for first-timers. I would advice taking along someone who is familiar with the city and the auto rates so that you don’t get fleeced.
